Some of our loyal readers and followers know that Ajay and I are children of the world. No matter how many countries we may have visited, lived in, or been raised in, we are Indians at heart. Therefore, when something like this opens up in our current country of residence, the excitement is over the roof!
We recently had the opportunity to experience the magic of Indego 360 by the man himself, Michelin starred, Chef Vineet Bhatia. We had the wonderful opportunity to dine with his beautiful wife (who has a big hand in making this restaurant so unique and beautiful) along with the mastermind behind the design of this three-story restaurant, (YES it is a three-story restaurant, you heard me right!)
Indego 360 is one of the highest Indian restaurants in the world serving from the 40th, 41st and 42nd floors. It is located at the Abraj Towers at the Pearl. When entering the Pearl you must have seen two tall towers one on the left and on the right. If you go to the tower on your right and head all the way up to the 40th floor you will land at Indego 360! True to its name, as a guest, you will be able to experience thrilling 360-degree views while you enjoy classic and modern Indian delicacies curated with unique flavours and combinations that will definitely WOW you!
The Design
The design and décor for each floor are different and their aim is to cater to all kinds of guests. People who may be looking for a casual dining, fine dining or private dining experience can all be satisfied. Each floor is unique and it’s almost like every time you do plan to visit the restaurant you could have a different experience depending on the floor you choose!
We really appreciated some key elements. The ceiling on the 41st floor is filled with kites in the colours of the Qatari flag which symbolizes the fusion of the Indian and Qatari cultures. The ceiling fans as well are traditional old-school black fans that look so beautiful when functioning together. The chandeliers on each floor are simply marvellous and very well chosen for each section. In addition to this, there is a classic Auto-Rickshaw front placed at the counter of the 41st floor, which is perfect for those instagramers. Also, the smart windows that allow you to glimpse into the kitchen are super unique and probably the first in Doha!
The Food
If you know chef Vineet Bhatia, you probably know that the food served at most of his restaurants is classic Indian food but always with a beautiful modern twist. As with Indego 360, chef Vineet has created every dish using unique plating methods, distinctive flavours and stunning presentation. We loved the tapas style sharing portions which allow you to try out many of his excellent creations. Of all the many dishes that we tried, no one was served in a simple or bland manner. Each plate was unique, and it almost seemed like each dish could have a story to tell.
Starting with the drinks, the lightening passion and the watermelon mint coolers were both wonderfully presented with blinking ice cubes giving them a lightening effect.
My favourite Indian tapas were Malai olive chicken tikka, the cheesy bread pakora, chicken popcorn, beetroot Gulati kebabs, pau bhaji and the chocolate cake with the crispy base. There were more amazing dishes that we loved but you would have to visit this wonderful restaurant to try them out for yourselves.
